One of the main challenges was modernizing the interface without alienating long-time users who were familiar with the older layout. The platform had grown in features over time, but the user experience hadn’t kept up resulting in a cluttered, hard-to-navigate UI that made it difficult to find key tools like portfolio tracking or market research.
Another challenge was improving the mobile experience. Core flows like buying and selling stocks, tracking holdings, and accessing reports were not optimized for smaller screens, leading to usability issues and drop-offs, especially from first-time users coming in via mobile.
I led a full redesign of the core investment flows, focusing on clarity, hierarchy, and reducing the steps needed to complete common actions. The updated interface brought key metrics to the front, added guidance for new investors, and made switching between products smoother.
On mobile, I created a more focused layout with gesture-based navigation and contextual menus. This helped users take faster actions, increased engagement time, and made Stoxbox feel more competitive with other modern investment platforms in the market.
Next projects.
